DPM Sar Kheng Receives New Japanese Ambassador

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng received here yesterday H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi, newly appointed Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia.

During the meeting, H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi highlighted the good strategic partnership between the two countries since 2013, which has boosted the progress in all domains, especially in the increase of Japanese tourists and businessmen to Cambodia, especially after the launch of direct flights between Cambodia and Japan.

The new Japanese diplomat expressed his satisfaction with Japans' assistance to Cambodia in the fields of infrastructure construction, land mine clearance, voter registration process and so on.

H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi asked Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng to help maintain safety for Japanese people and investors so as to further encourage them to come to Cambodia.

For his part, Samdech Kralahom Sar Kheng expressed warm welcome to the new Japanese ambassador and thanked the Government and people of Japan for their valuable support to Cambodia for the cause of peace and development, particularly for the technical and material assistance to NEC for the computerised voter registration process.

Samdech Sar Kheng also laid stress on the country's good security situation, and pledged to continue ensuring safety for the Japanese people and investors, as well as for other nationalities who are living, investing and visiting Cambodia.
