Drug dealers killed during a police operation in Manila

Filipino residents view a dead body of an alleged drug dealer killed during a police operation against illegal drugs in Manila, Philippines, 23 August 2016. The Senate has started its investigation into the alleged extrajudicial killings of suspected criminals under the current administration. According to Police data which was submitted to by Philippine National Police Director General Ronald dela Rosa on 22 August, at least 712 people were slain during anti-drug police operations, and 1,067 more deaths committed by still unidentified killers, based on a tally from 01 July to 21 August.
