Eide: Steps to be taken in the coming days to overcome Cyprus talks’ stalemate

UN Secretary Generals Special Advisor on Cyprus, Espen Barth Eide said that steps will be taken in the coming days to overcome the difficult situation that the Cyprus talks are facing.

He was speaking after a three-hour meeting with Turkish Cypriot leader Mustafa Akinci who walked out of the last leaders meeting, in the framework of the UN-led negotiations on the Cyprus problem.

Eide said the meeting was "substantive and long" precisely because we know that the process is in a difficult situation right now, he marked.
