Enhancement of Public Health Services and Nutrition, a Government’s Priority

The improvement of public health services and nutrition remains a priority of this new mandate Royal Government, stressed Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen while presiding over here yesterday afternoon the closing ceremony of the 40th Health Conference.

The Prime Minister called for participation from local communities and sub-national administrations in the intervention to enhance nutrition, especially in the areas with high level of malnutrition.

Moreover, in order to build popularity of Cambodian health system and increase confidence among people, Samdech Techo Hun Sen appealed to all stakeholders to collaborate in promoting the quality, safety and effectiveness of the health services, developing more qualified human resources, and implementing measures to prevent diseases.

The Premier also laid stress on the need to strengthen law enforcement related to the management of the use of medicines without prescription, of chemicals in food, alcohol and tobacco, to create a multi-sectoral mechanism to enhance nutrition, and to boost social protection system development as well as to share and exchange health-related information at all levels.
