Export of Cambodian Clothes and Footwear to China Up 42.75% in 2017

Cambodian exported about US$207 million worth of clothes and footwear to China during the first 11 months of last year, up 42.75 percent compared with the whole year of 2016, pointed out recently he Ministry of Commerce.

China is the biggest investment source of Cambodia in textile, garment and footwear industry. However, the current biggest markets are the EU and the U.S. that have provided the Generalised System of Preferences for the Kingdom, especially the EU's Everything But Arms (EBA) scheme.

According to a report of the Royal Government of Cambodia, for the first nine months of 2017, Cambodian clothes and footwear worth in total US$5.600 million were exported to international markets, an increase by 7 percent compared with the same period in 2016, of which 45 percent to the EU and 20 percent to the U.S.
