Fair trade enterprise launches new line

For more than four decades, Community Crafts Association of the Philippines Inc. (CCAP) and its subsidiary CCAP Fairtrade for Development Inc. (CCAP Fairtrade) have assisted marginalized handicraft producers through product design and development and exporting their handicrafts to fair trade buyers abroad.

This year, CCAP and CCAP Fairtrade launch their local brand of export quality handicrafts called LikhangAtin by CCAP Fairtrade— another innovation by one of the longest-running social enterprises in the country.

“We called it LikhangAtin because we feel very strongly the need to emphasize great yet local skills and talent that went into each and every product that we will be rolling out for our domestic line,” said Voltaire Alferez, Executive Director of both companies.

He said the products are “proudly community-based products produced using local knowledge and skill as well as local resources.”

LikhangAtin by CCAP Fairtrade products are crafted following fair trade principles which seek to uphold the dignity of labor, women empowerment, child protection and environmental protection, among others.
