First CATA Travel Fair Planned in July

The first Cambodia Association of Travel Agents (CATA) Travel Fair will be organised in Phnom Penh next month with an aim to raise potential of domestic tourist destinations to local and foreign tourists.

The three-day fair, from July 20 to 22 at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, will attract tour agencies, hotels, guesthouses, tourism communities, resorts, airlines and so on to display their services and products on 150 booths.

The main purpose of the fair is to focus on potential of domestic tourist destinations, Cambodian cuisine, and understanding of outbound tourists on overseas destinations, CATA’s President Ms. Chhay Sivlin, said at press conference on Monday.

Through the fair, we want to encourage local people nationwide to think of domestic destinations because the trend of domestic tours has increased significantly in recent years, she added.

Fifty (50) of the 150 booths will be reserved for local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their products, mostly food, to get local and foreign visitors to know more about Cambodian cuisine.
