Foreign Minister: Japan Supports US$46 Million for Education of Cambodian Students

Until 2016, Japan supported the study of 368 Cambodian students in the country with an equivalence to approximately US$46 million.

Senior Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Prak Sokhonn flagged this up during a recent signing ceremony of key documents with H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia.

Among the total number of supported students, added H.E. Prak Sokhonn, 275 have successfully graduated and been employed to contribute to the development in various sectors of Cambodia.

The senior minister also expressed his thanks on behalf of Cambodians and the Royal Government of Cambodia to Japanese people and government for the assistance in human resource development of Cambodia.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn and H.E. Hidehisa Horinouchi signed the Exchange of Notes and Record of Discussions on the extension of grant aid up to the amount of US$5.77 million for the implementation of two human resource development projects for 2017-2018.

Japan is one of the biggest countries that provide aids to Cambodia in all sectors.
