Foreign tourists visiting the Kingdom of Cambodia increased by 10 percent to 4.8 million in the first nine months of this year, as Chinese tourists continue to top the list of international tourist arrivals.

According to the Ministry of Tourism, more than 3 million tourists arrived through the country’s three international airports.

From January to September, Chinese tourists continue to top the country’s tourism market list, followed by Vietnamese, said H.E. Top Sopheak, the ministry’s spokesperson.

The growth reflects positive development of tourism sector in Cambodia as we can see the number of foreign tourists visiting Cambodia is still growing, H.E. Top Sopheak said.

Last year, Cambodia received 6.2 million foreign tourists, a 10.7 percent increase compared to the year before.

Cambodia expects to attract at least 7 million foreign tourists in 2020, 2 million of whom are from China.
