GDCE Delegation Returns from 129th/130th WCO Council Sessions 2017

A high-level delegation of the General Department of Customs and Excise of Cambodia (GDCE) led by its Director General H.E. Kun Nhim has returned home recently after attending the 129th/130th Council Sessions of the World Customs Organisation (WCO), held from July 6-8 in Brussels, Belgium.

Attended by directors general and customs officials from WCO's 182 member countries, representatives of private sector, as well as international observers, the meeting focused mainly on the progress of the implementation of the strategic action plan 2016-2017 and on drawing up a new strategic plan 2018-2019.

The meeting also touched on market competition, customs administration in the context of information technology, e-commercial management, trade facilitation, security and counter-terrorism, and beyond.

On the sidelines of the meeting, H.E. Kun Nhim held bilateral talks with his Japanese counterpart Mr. Mikio Kajikawa to strengthen cooperation of the sector between the two countries, including grant aid for Cambodia's GDCE development.
