IMF to Assist Cambodia in Strengthening Capacity of Economic Experts

International Monetary Fund (IMF) will further help strengthen capacity of Cambodian economic experts, mainly in assessing emerging issues and mitigating both internal and external risks.

The commitment was made by Mr. Yusuhisa Ojima, newly appointed Resident Representative of IMF in Cambodia during his meeting with H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, here in Phnom Penh recently.

Mr. Yusuhisa Ojima spoke highly of Cambodia's economic growth, including the sustained macro-economic stability, and pledged to continue good collaboration with Cambodia in all sectors.

H.E. Dr. Aun Pornmoniroth profoundly thanked IMF for its active contribution to Cambodia's economic growth.

The meeting focused primarily on fiscal policy including assessment of financing demand to support Cambodia's sustainable development goals, fiscal governance reform and strategy of expert capacity building.
