Information Minister Receives Indian Ambassador

Ambassador of India to Cambodia H.E. Naveen Srivastava thanked the Ministry of Information for its good cooperation for the success of the recent Festival of India in Cambodia, while meeting with Minister of Information H.E. Khieu Kanharith here yesterday.

India, said the Indian ambassador, was happy with the performance of her art troops in Phnom Penh, mainly in Siem Reap province which have made Indian people know more about the culture, civilisation and tradition of Cambodia and encouraged them to visit Angkor Wat Temple, the largest Hindu construction in the world.

On the occasion, H.E. Naveen Srivastava also handed over H.E. Minister a statue of Buddha and a leaf of Bodhi Tree where Buddha achieved his enlightenment.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith also expressed his pleasure to cooperate with India through art performance in Cambodia which attracted supports from both Cambodian people and foreign visitors.

Festival of India, which included Ramayana Classical Dance performance, Kathak Indian Classical Dance, Manganiar Folk Dance performances, a Buddhist Festival and a Food Festival, took place in Phnom Penh capital city, Siem Reap cultural province and Battambang northwestern province between January-February 2017.
