ITC To Support Cambodia in Implementing Trade Facilitation Agreement

The International Trade Centre (ITC) will support Cambodia in carrying out the Trade Facilitation Agreement (TFA).

This promise was made by Ms. Arancha Gonzalez, Executive Director of ITC, during a meeting with H.E. Pan Sorasak, Cambodian Minister of Commerce, on Jan. 23 in Geneva, Switzerland, according to the Ministry of Commerce's news release.

In this meeting, Ms. Gonzalez expressed her commitment in supporting Cambodia in conducting an impact analysis in garment sector, especially textiles. In addition, she agreed to formulate a proposal in order to obtain more aid for the implementation of TFA that aimed at reducing unnecessary spending and to increase state income, it pointed out.

ITC is the joint agency of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). Formed in 1964, ITC has been the focal point within the United Nations system for trade related technical assistance (TRTA).
