Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival 2017 Kicks Off

The 6th Japan-Cambodia Kizuna Festival was opened yesterday at the Cambodia-Japan Cooperation Centre (CJCC), Phnom Penh under the presidency of H.E. Hing Thoraxy, Secretary of State at the Office of the Council of Ministers and Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Horinouchi Hidehisa.

The event was organised by the Embassy of Japan in collaboration with CJCC and Japan Foundation Asia Centre Phnom Penh Liaison Office under the theme “Fly to Japan” to commemorate the launch of direct flights between Cambodia and Japan last September.

On top of these major events, the festival features many more events such as performances and workshops of Japanese modern dance, demonstration of martial arts, fashion shows, a cosplay show, demonstration of speedy calculation using traditional calculator (Abacus), sessions for flower arrangement and calligraphy, Japanese noodle making class as well as various lectures and exhibitions.

This event will run through till Feb. 26 with Yukata (traditional Japanese costume) Contest in Cambodia 2017 and the 10th Japan-Cambodia Friendship Classic Concert.
