Japan Reiterates Support for Physical Infrastructure Development in Cambodia

Japan reiterates support for physical infrastructure development in Cambodia thanks to progress and closer relations between the two countries from day to day.

H.E. Mikami Masahiro, Ambassador of Japan to Cambodia, made the point, while meeting with Senior Minister and Minister of Public Works and Transport H.E. Sun Chanthol at the ministry office yesterday.

H.E. Mikami Masahiro also lauded humanitarian activities of the Royal Government of Cambodia and its people for accepting the docking of Westerdam cruise ship which has been turned away by many countries due to COVID-19 fears.

For his part, H.E. Sun Chanthol informed his guest about main prioritised sectors of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT), especially the close cooperation between MPWT, ministries/institutions, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), and stakeholders in dealing with traffic congestion issue at Stung Bot-Ban Nong Ian (Cambodia-Thailand) and Bavet-Moc Bai (Cambodia-Vietnam) international border checkpoints.
