Japan Supports July National Election in Cambodia

The Government of Japan will continue supporting the national election process in Cambodia to be held on July 29, 2018.

H.E. Shinzo Abe, Prime Minister of Japan, reaffirmed his country's stance while receiving H.E. General Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF), in Tokyo on April 26, according to a post on H.E. Gen. Hun Manet's Facebook page.

H.E. Shinzo Abe also raised some ideas for Cambodia to take into consideration in order to ensure the free and just national election which reflects the people's will.

H.E. Gen. Hun Manet has been on a visit in Japan at the invitation of H.E. Shinzo Abe extended during a meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, on the sidelines of the 11th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM11) Summit in Mongolia.

The Japanese Premier hoped that the visit of H.E. Gen. Hun Manet will further strengthen and expand the relations and cooperation between the two countries.
