Japan to Hand over a Song about Cambodia’s Education Progress

Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said a song that made him shed tears at a reception during his recent trip to Japan will be given to Cambodia.

At a gathering with 1,753 students who got their baccalaureate with grade A in the 2020-2021 academic year, held at Chroy Changvar Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh this morning, the Premier said this song was sung by a Japanese singer who used to visit Cambodia when she was young.

“I shed tears when I heard the song and saw pictures of some old school buildings during the People’s Republic of Kampuchea,” he said.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen said the song is accompanied by some pictures of Cambodia’s school buildings in the past and the current situation.

The Prime Minister underlined that the song will be handed over to Cambodia with diplomatic notes after Japan settled intellectual rights with the company who owns that song for the official use in Cambodia.
