Japan’s Grant Assistance for Installing Prosthetic, Rebuilding Water Treatment Kiosks, and Providing Water Supply Equipment

The Government of Japan has agreed to provide US$264,086 as Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Project, KUSANONE, to support three development projects in various provinces.
H.E. MIKAMI Masahiro, Japanese Ambassador to Cambodia and representatives of the recipient organisations signed here recently their contracts respectively.
According to a press release of the Embassy of Japan in Cambodia, the assistance will be used to install prosthetic, orthotic and physiotherapy equipment at Kratie Physical Rehabilitation Centre in Kratie province, rebuild water treatment kiosks at eight communes in four provinces and provide water supply equipment at Sangkhim Canaan School in Kampong Chhnang province.
Although large-scale ODA projects like Sihanoukville port, National Road No.5, and yen loan for COVID-19 crisis response are often covered in media, it is still one of the priorities for the Government of Japan to work with local governments and NGOs in order to contribute to the improvement of the quality of life in provinces, said the embassy.
“We believe that these grants will enhance the quality of life for people in each project area,” it underlined.
