Joint Working Group to Resolve Phnom Penh’s Potential Flash Floods

Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology and Phnom Penh Hall have agreed on a joint working group to study and resolve the threat of potential flash floods in the capital.

The agreement was reached during a recent meeting between the ministry’s technical team led by H.E. Minister Lim Kean Hor and Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng’s delegation at the ministry office.

In the meeting, H.E. Khuong Sreng requested the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology for support to study areas prone to flash floods and to develop technical standards and procedure to evade the incidents.

H.E. Lim Kean Hor welcomed the proposal. Eventually, a joint working group was created to work on the issue as soon as possible, as it is now rainy season.
