Kampong Speu Palm Sugar Production To Expand, Especially for Exports

Kampong Speu Palm Sugar Promotion Association (KSPA) is positive of production expansion of the goods, especially when it is granted with Geographical Identification by the European Union.

The optimism was shared by KSPA president Mr. Sam Saroeun with the local media, highlighting that the number of KSPA members has risen to more than 200 families, thus driving up the products in 2019.

For 2018, added the source, the association produced some 300 tons of palm sugar � an increase of about 50 tons compared to last year � and exported about 250 tons of it.

Thanks to the unique quality of the product, it is also expected that the European Union will grant it a geographical indication (GI) next year � the recognition that will further promote in international markets.
