KOTA BHARU – Kelantan police are poised and prepared to face the upcoming Northeast Monsoon, expected to commence in the middle of this month. This readiness was affirmed by Kelantan police chief Datuk Muhammad Zaki Harun, highlighting the force’s comprehensive preparatory measures.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the police force’s preparations are informed by experiences from last year’s monsoon. These preparations include meetings with various agencies at both the state and district levels, aimed at ensuring a coordinated response to the challenges posed by the monsoon season. He emphasized that current weather changes indicate the imminent arrival of the monsoon, leading to directives for all police personnel to remain vigilant. This state of readiness encompasses ensuring that all assets and logistics are fully operational and in good condition.
Further underlining their preparedness, he mentioned that the police force is always ready to act on instructions from the leadership of the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) and other related agencies. One notable aspect of their readiness plan involves freezing the leave of police officers and personnel, ensuring maximum availability during this critical period.
The media had earlier reported that the Northeast Monsoon season is forecasted to begin around November 11 and is expected to extend into March of the following year.
