The construction of Koh Tonsay tourism port, on Koh Tonsay Island, some 4 kilometres offshore of Kep province’s mainland, will begin in early November.
A letter dated Oct. 18 and signed by H.E. Suy San, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to Kep provincial governor, stated that Vimean Chey Group Co., Ltd. will start the construction of the tourism port on Koh Tonsay Island on Nov. 1, 2021.
The Koh Tonsay port is part of ADB’s Greater Mekong Sub-region Tourism Infrastructure for Inclusive Growth Project phase II.
The project costs US$1.6 million and the construction process will take 15 months to complete in early of 2023.
The project has previously been scheduled to start in mid-October this year, but downpour causes the project to delay to next month, Mr. Rao Sokha, Deputy Governor of Kep province, said on Monday.
