KOICA and Holt Children’s Services Join Forces to Support Activities Related to SDGs in Cambodia

Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) in collaboration with Holt Children's services organised here yesterday a campaign to support the activities related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Cambodia.

Under the slogan of Stand together for a Peaceful, Just, and Sustainable World, the event took place at Trapaing Anchanh Primary School, in the presence of Mr. Rho Hyun-Jun, Country Director of KOICA Cambodia Office and Mr. Kang Thea, the School Principle, with the participation of some 100 students.

On the occasion, Mr. Rho Hyun-Jun explained the SDGs to the school children, and highlighted the 17 goals of SDGs which are the world's best plan to build a better world for people and our planet by 2030.

Also during the event, KOICA contributed electric fans, bookshelves, and education materials for school and students as well as provided education for the students about hygiene and sanitation.

In addition, KOICA distributed school supplies to the identified school children in the Trapaing Anchanh Primary School. Inside the Eco bags were, notebook, ballpen, and correction pen received by the school children with much delight. The simple snack and soft drink were also provided to them.

All KOICA and Holt Children's services staff members also organised fun outdoor games for school children and the latters enjoyed playing games like throwing small balls into baskets, Hula Hoop Relay Race, and a three-legged race.

For his part, Mr. Kang Thea expressed his thanks and appreciation to the KOICA and Holt Children's Services for initiating the said activities related to the SDGs in his school and community. He also conveyed his appreciation to the group for taking time and efforts to reach out to his school children and requested KOICA to continue supporting this kind of activities in school in the future.
