Korean Peninsula: Cambodia Calls for Resumption of Six Party Talk

Cambodia appealed for the Six Party Talks to be resumed in order to bring peace and stability to the Korean Peninsula.

The appeal was made by Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen while receiving here this morning at the Peace Palace newly appointed Ambassador of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) to Cambodia H.E. Jang Yun Gon, according to H.E. Kao Kim Hourn, Delegate Minister Attached to the Prime Minister.

The Cambodian premier called on the DPRK's government to respect the UN Security Council's resolution, stressing that he wanted to see peace on the Korean Peninsula.

For his part, H.E. Jang Yun Gon recalled the history of the establishment of relations between Cambodia and DPRK, and lauded the current progress in Cambodia.

The new North Korean ambassador pledged to do his best to further promote the bilateral cooperation between the two nations.
