Labour Minister Meets with Cambodian Migrants in Japan

Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Ith Samheng has recently led a delegation to meet Cambodian migrant workers and students in Japan.

On occasion, H.E. Ith Samheng encouraged Cambodian migrant workers and students to accumulate knowledge, skills and experience in Japan for adaptation and application when they return to Cambodia.

With the skills and experience, he underlined, the migrant workers and students will become indispensable resource in Cambodia. They can also attract Japanese investment in the country.

According to H.E. Ith Samheng, there are currently over 5,000 Cambodian migrant workers in Japan and 50,000 others in South Korea.

During the visit to Japan, the minister and his delegation signed a memorandum of understanding on a new labour law and discussed the improvement of Cambodian migrant workers condition with his Japanese counterpart.
