Labour Minister Schedules Visit to Thailand on Issues of Cambodian Workers

Cambodian Minister of Labour and Vocational Training H.E. Ith Samheng and his delegation have scheduled a visit to Thailand for a talk with the country on the issues about Cambodian workers there.

The minister updated about the planned trip when presiding over the third national forum on Technical and Vocational Education and Training lately at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre here in Phnom Penh early this week.

H.E. Ith Samheng called on Cambodians, especially workers sent back from Thailand, and their families to remain calm, indicating that the Royal Government of Cambodia and the Royal Embassy of Cambodia in Thailand are looking seriously into the issues and working hard to resolve them.

Royal Government of Thailand has recently approved a new law that places more restriction on undocumented foreign workers in the country, resulting in sending back undocumented Cambodian workers in the country.

As of now, there are over one million documented and undocumented Cambodian workers in Thailand.

The discussion visit of Cambodian delegation will start on July 6.
