Lao President Begins State Visit in Cambodia

President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith started this morning his two-day state visit in Cambodia, at the invitation of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith and the members of his high-level delegation were greeted upon their arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport by Samdech Chaufea Veang Kong Sam Ol, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Royal Palace, and H.E. Say Samal, Minister of Environment as Minister-in-attendance.

According to the programme, following his arrival, the Lao president will be received in a Royal Audience by His Majesty the King at the Royal Palace.

This afternoon, H.E. Bounnhang Vorachith will have separate meetings with Cambodian dignitaries namely Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, President of the Senate; Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly; and Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

This state visit is a significant event to further enhance the friendship and strengthen the cooperation in all fields between both countries and peoples, said a recent press release of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
