Cambodia’s rainy season is expected to begin in the first week of May for the lowland and coastal areas, and in the second week for the highland area, according to the first long-term weather forecast shared today by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
Besides, it added, there would be unexpected rain, from moderate to heavy, during the dry season, particularly from February to early May and possibly accompanied by thunder, lightning, and gusts.
Even though the amount of rainfall could be higher than the previous year, it is not enough for use, especially for immediate need, said the ministry, calling for continued water storage and saving.
Cambodia’s weather will mainly be influenced by the Neutral, El Nino and La Nina phenomena, said the forecast.
For the temperature, it pointed out, it would rise between April and May. The maximum temperature would peak around 37-39 degrees Celsius during the said period.
