Main Span of Koh Thom Bridge in Kandal Province Connected

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen presided over this morning a ceremony to connect the main span of Koh Thom Bridge across Tonle Bassac River in Koh Thom district, Kandal province.

H.E. Ms. Bu Jianguo, Ambassador of China to Cambodia, was also present on the occasion.

The construction of the 415-meter-long and 13.5-meter-wide bridge, which began in March 2014 and is expected to complete at the end of this year or early next year, cost some US$19.39 million, a China's concessional loan and Cambodia's national budget, said Senior Minister H.E. Sun Chanthol, Minister of Public of Works and Transport.

This is a strategic infrastructure to boost trade and transportation links between the National Roads No.1 and No. 21.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and people for their support to infrastructure development projects in Cambodia and he wished Cambodia-China relations to become stronger and stronger.
