Minister Calls for Strong Support for Para Athletes

Information Minister expects another historic moment for Cambodia as the 12th ASEAN Para Games host and called on collective support for the athletes’ determination.

H.E. Khieu Kanharith underscored the note when addressing the opening of Main Press Centre (MPC) and International Broadcasting Centre (IBC) for the games at Morodok Techo National Stadium this morning.

Para-athletes from all countries deserve strong support and respect because they have overcome numerous challenges in their lives to reach this stage, said the minister.

He continued that their achievements are testament to their strength and resilience, and the spirit of determination, courage and perseverance define our para-athletes.

The para games themed “Sport: Live in Peace” will be officially opened under the auspices of Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and his spouse Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen on June 3.

Along with committed warm responsibility, Cambodia provides free accommodation and food for all sport delegates, free broadcasting rights for media partners, and free tickets for spectators.

The 12th ASEAN Para Games will be held in Phnom Penh from June 3 to 9 with 14 sports of 431 sports events.
