Minister of Education Supports TVET Modernisation

The Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports supports the initiatives by the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training to modernise the Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET).

The support was highlighted by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth, and Sports H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron when presiding over the opening ceremony of the 7th National TVET Day 2024 in Phnom Penh last weekend.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron congratulated the celebration of the significant event, which is a joint effort among the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, concerned ministries and institutions, the private sector, and partners to promote skilled labour forces, especially among students, employees, and employers.

H.E. Dr. Hang Chuon Naron spoke highly of Senior Minister H.E. Dr. Pich Sophorn for leading TVET and of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training for organising such event themed “TVET: Learning to Complete, to Know, and to Get Jobs.”

The deputy prime minister also highlighted th
at the event is a good opportunity for youth and that job information is contributing significantly to the creation of new jobs to increase income and reduce poverty in Cambodia.

The Royal Government of Cambodia has put forth the TVET programme for 1.5 million youth from poor and vulnerable families to bridge the skill gap and promote productivity to boost economic growth through accelerating Cambodia’s skilled labour.
