Minister of Environment Supports a Solar Power Project in Kep Province

Cambodia's Minister of Environment H.E. Say Samal expressed here yesterday his support to a solar power development project in Kep city of Kep coastal province, according to the ministry's news release.

The support was made known when H.E. Say Samal received a representative of the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) who came to present him the project.

GGGI planned to generate 10 MW solar energy on 20 hectares for Kep city's residents.

Cambodia really needs solar power to develop Kep city into a natural tourism destination because Kep has beautiful beaches, tremendous bio-diversity, and many natural islands for eco-tourism.

H.E. Say Samal also requested GGGI to distribute directly the generated solar power to people.
