Ministry of Culture Urges for Collective Effort to Bring its Work to Next Level

Minister of Culture and Fine Arts urged for a joint effort to further preserve national traditions and culture, both tangible and intangible, of Cambodia.

The pledge made recently during the ministry’s annual work review and planning at Chaktomuk Conference Hall here in Phnom Penh was strongly backed by Deputy Prime Minister Men Sam An who presided over the event.

We need a collective effort, said the Deputy Prime Minister, for the work which is a national priority and identity because it serves as the backbone of the country.

According to Minister of Culture and Fine Arts H.E. Phoeurng Sackona, protection of cultural heritages, cultural advancement, and strengthening of support services are the ministry’s primary focuses.

Despite some challenges, almost 80 percent of the committed activities in 2016, have been achieved.

For the years ahead, H.E. Phoeurng Sackona called for more intimate cooperation among ministry’s leadership and staff as well as concerned professors and teachers to bring the achievements to the next level.
