Ministry of Environment Reviews 15 Development Projects

Cambodia's senior officials and experts gathered here yesterday in a meeting hosted by the Ministry of Environment to review the progress in implementation of 15 development projects in sustainable use area of natural protected areas in the country.

According to the Ministry of Environment's news release, those projects, related to eco- and agro-tourism development, special economic zone, forest and wildlife conservation, cover a total area of 89,252.78 hectares.

Chaired by H.E. So Khanrithykun, Under Secretary of State for Environment, this meeting attracted 60 participants from relevant units of the Ministry of Environment and from the 15 companies.

Up to now, Cambodia has in total 46 natural protected areas and 3 biodiversity conservation corridors covering more than 7.3 million hectares.
