Ministry of Information is supporting U.S Agency for Global Media with the application to reopen office of the states broadcaster, radio of Voice of America (VOA).
According to H.E. Meas Sophorn, the ministry's Undersecretary of State and Spokesperson, the support was discussed in a meeting wherein Information Minister H.E. Khieu Kanharith received the Charge d'Affaires of U.S. Embassy Mr. Michael Newbill and Mr. Matthew Walsh, Deputy President in charge of Operation of US Agency for Global Media.
In the meeting at the ministry's office here in Phnom Penh yesterday, Mr. Matthew Walsh asked H.E. Khieu Kanharith to walk him through the required application procedures for the reopening of VOA office in Cambodia.
H.E. Khieu Kanharith explained the agency's deputy president the procedure, and provided him the application form for the process.
The information minister also expressed his readiness to further help facilitate the office reopening, being positive that the broadcaster will promote unity in Cambodia and beyond.
