MoAFF Calls for Environment-Friendly Agricultural Practices

Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries H.E. Veng Sakhon has urged farmers, concerned authorities as well as the public to pay more attention on preserving the quality of agricultural soil.

While promoting agricultural productivity, he added, we need to do it wisely and in a way harmless to natural resources and environmental system.

H.E. Veng Sakhon, made the alert, when presiding over Cambodia’s observation of the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought at the Royal University of Agriculture recently.

The minister also encouraged concerned stakeholders to stop illegal land clearance and promote the policy of proper land use.

As he highlighted, poor land productivity would drive farmers toward life choices that are risky and detrimental to the wellbeing of them, others and the society.

Royal Government of Cambodia marks the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought in order to promote environment-friendly and quality agricultural practices in Cambodia.
