More Cambodia’s Fresh Mangoes Exported to EU Markets

Kingdom Fruits International has shipped some 15 tons of fresh Keo Romeat mangoes out to European markets, and the amount is expected to increase despite unfavorable weather conditions for the fruit growing.

The company, a subsidiary of the Mong Reththy Group, has sent three shipments of 5 tons each to the EU, said Mr. Tan Monivann, the Group’s Vice President, adding that the exports would rise during this harvesting season.

This year, mango packaging is much improved comparing to the previous years, he underlined.

Cambodia exported nearly 300 tons of fresh mangoes to the EU for the 2016-2017 period, said in June this year Okhna Mong Reththy, Founder and President of Mong Reththy Group, adding that about 500 tons of Cambodia’s mangoes were ordered for the EU markets for 2017-2018.

Beside the EU, tons of Cambodian fresh mangoes are expected to bound to the Republic of Korea next year.
