More Than 140 Mayors to Attend AIMF General Assembly in Phnom Penh

Some 400 delegates from 140 cities in 41 countries will gather at the 39th General Assembly of the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF) to be held in Phnom Penh on Dec. 3-4, 2019.

H.E. Khuong Sreng, Governor of Phnom Penh Municipality, said at a preparatory meeting yesterday afternoon that as of Nov. 28, a total of 404 delegates had confirmed their participation, of them 85 are mayors.

This event will take place under theme Resilient City: Thinking about Challenges of Urban Reconstruction.

During this forthcoming event, many former governors of Phnom Penh will be invited to share their experiences as well as challenges in the urban development process.

AIMF, chaired by the Mayor of Paris, was founded in 1979. It is the worldwide network of French-speaking local elected officials and their associations, united by the values they share. Its executive office represents the diversity of its members. They are bound by very strong individual links, which favour the continuity of exchanges and the circulation of ideas at the highest level.
