More US Investment in Preah Sihanouk Province Encouraged

Cambodia has asked the US delegation to disseminate and encourage more investors from the country to Preah Sihanouk province.

The request was made by H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun, Governor of Preah Sihanouk province in a meeting with visiting US delegation led by Mr. Paul Grava, Secretary General of the United States Senate Committee on Finance, in Sihanoukville on April 20.

H.E. Kuoch Chamroeun underlined the robust development of Preah Sihanouk province, especially its potential in key areas such as economy, infrastructure and tourism.

The governor recalled Mr. Paul Grava that from 2007 to 2019, the province welcomed 24 US naval delegation and military attaché visits, and 31 US warships dockings, and there were 17 joint drills between Cambodian navy and US military since 1996 there.

Preah Sihanouk province and Seattle city in Washington have formed a sister alliance since 2000, he added.

From his end, Mr. Paul Grava took note of the the governor’s suggestions and spoke highly of the province’s rapid development in all sectors, especially in economy, infrastructure and tourism.
