Motorcycle- and Motorised Tricycle Drivers Applaud Given Access to Free Health Care

Motorcycle- and motorised tricycle-taxi drivers has cheered given identity card to access free health care, namely health equity fund services, at state-run clinics and hospitals, according to local media report.

The card was recently handed over to almost 4,000 of them here in Phnom Penh by a delegation of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF).

The lead of the delegation, NSSF Executive Director Mr. Ouk Samvithyea, was cited in the source underlining that the rest of motorcycle- and motorised tricycle-taxi drivers at 25 capital and provinces across Cambodia will soon receive similar arrangement.

The free access to health care was seen to be very helpful for the drivers, not only securing their health, but also allowing better saving among them for other household needs.

Royal Government of Cambodia is committed to enable the health equity fund services to all Cambodians both formally and informally employed.

At the same time, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen continue to encourage quality and ethical services among all medical staff.
