NA President Receives Vietnamese Foreign Minister

Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia (NA), received here yesterday visiting Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs H.E. Pham Binh Minh.

On the occasion, H.E. Pham Binh Minh informed Samdech Heng Samrin of his visit to Cambodia, the purpose of which is to attend the 9th Meeting on Cooperation and Development of the Cambodia-Vietnam Border Provinces and the 15th Meeting of the Cambodia-Vietnam Joint Commission on Economic, Cultural, Scientific, and Technological Cooperation.

Through those meetings, both sides will continue to push for the development in all sectors, especially bilateral trade, which is expected to reach US$5 billion, underlined the Vietnamese foreign minister.

H.E. Pham Binh Minh also expressed thanks to the Royal Government of Cambodia for her support and facilitation to Vietnamese investors in the Kingdom, and highly valued Cambodia for her achievements in the national development.

For his part, Samdech Heng Samrin expressed warm welcome to H.E. Pham Binh Minh’s visit to Cambodia, adding that this visit will further deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two neighbouring nations.

The NA president also congratulated the 50th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, and spoke highly of the close relations and cooperation in all domains between the two nations and peoples.
