Nauraj Now In Second Place In World Ranking

KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) — The jump of 2.29 metres at the 78th Singapore Open Championship at the National Stadium, Singapore has placed national high-jumper Nauraj Singh in second place in world ranking.

Malaysian Athletics Union (MAU) President Datuk Karim Ibrahim, when making the confirmation, said Nauraj shared the ranking with three other high-jumpers namely Talles Frederico Silva from Brazil, Wang Yu from China, and Dj Smith from the United States (US) so far.

The first place in world ranking is occupied by Jamal Wilson from Bahrain with a jump of 2.30m, based on the ranking of the International Associations of Athletics Federations (IAAF).

“Nauraj’s success has brought glory to the nation and should be emulated by other athletes,” he told a media conference at the National Sports Council, here today.
