Cambodia’s economy remarkably rose during the first six months of 2017, underlined H.E. Chea Chanto, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), during a recent recapitulative meeting of the bank.
The trend indicates solid likelihood of Cambodia to maintain a growth rate of 7 percent this year contributed mainly by garment, construction and real estate, and tourism sectors, said the NBC governor.
Despite the on-going upturn, added H.E. Chea Chanto, Cambodian economy may be affected by factors, such as the fluctuation of U.S. currency, increase of worker fees, and the decrease of agricultural products.
The Royal Government of Cambodia as well as the national bank understand well the bottlenecks and are introducing measures to mitigate the threats.
