NBC and CBK Collaborates on Study and Experience Sharing

National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) and Central Bank of Korea (CBK) have collaborated on exchange rate study and experience sharing.

The announcement of the cooperation was made in a recent workshop here in Phnom Penh, under the chairmanship of H.E. Ms. Neav Chanthana, NBC Deputy Governor and Senior Advisor to the Central Bank of Korea Mr. Soon Won Chung.

In an update to the media after the workshop, NBC Director General of Central Banking Directorate H.E. Chea Serey underlined that the study will look into the correlation between exchange rate and inflation in Cambodia's economy.

The study, she added, will help Cambodia with the implementation of its monetary policy to maintain pricing stability.

The study was estimated to take about six months and the result will be disseminated by the close of 2017.

The two banks also entered a memorandum of understanding to exchange experts for mutual experience sharing and learning.
