NBC Governor Meets Deputy Managing Director of IMF

Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) H.E. Chea Chanto held talks here on June 7 with visiting Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa, as party of his four-day (June 6-9) visit in the Kingdom.

According to the NBC's news release, in the meeting, H.E. Chea Chanto expressed thanks to IMF for its assistance to NBC, especially on human resource development and macroeconomic monitoring.

For his part, Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa highly appreciated the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts in maintaining peace and political stability, the foundation for development, as well as the country's high economic growth rate of the 7.7 percent on average in the last two decades.

Mr. Mitsuhiro Furusawa also highly valued the strong progress of the banking system and voiced his support to the NBC's macroeconomic policy for financial stability. Moreover, he reaffirmed the IMF's continued support to the Royal Government of Cambodia through technical assistance, human resource training and macroeconomic monitoring for sustainable economic development of Cambodia.
