National Bank of Cambodia (NBC) has urged all banks and financial institutions across Cambodia not to mandate official identifications as support documents from loan seekers.
The reinforcement was recently released by Director General of the NBC’s Supervision General Department H.E. Rath Sovannorak.
Any banks or financial institutions that continue to accept identification card, family record book and residence book as support documents for loan seekers according to H.E. Rath Sovannorak will be at risk of license termination.
As observed by the director general, a number of banks and financial institutions have not paid sufficient attention to the requirement, which was indeed circulated since Mar. 11, 2016.
