NCST Organises a Workshop on “Geospatial System Road Show 2016”

Geographical and land experts of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport of the Republic of Korea have shared their experience and knowledge on management of geography and land system to Cambodian officials from the Ministry of Planning; Ministry of Land Management, Urban planning and Construction; Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries; and Ministry of Environment.

The knowledge sharing event was organised by the Ministry of Planning’s National Council for Science and Technology (NCST) in a workshop on “Geospatial System Road Show 2016”, held in Phnom Penh in late November, to boost harmonisation and efficiency in land use and management.

Speaking on the occasion, H.E. Chhay Than, Senior Minister and Minister of Planning, and Permanent Vice President of NCST, highlighted the significance of land use and management, therefore systematic and effective land use and management is very necessary.

NCST has operated with Korean institutions and ministries to build a strategic framework in order to enhance the development and the use of soft infrastructure, especially the spatial information system for land use and management in Cambodia, underlined H.E. Senior Minister.

At the event, apart from sharing knowledge and experience, the Korean side also provided modern technical equipment for land survey to Cambodian officials.
