Nearly US$36 Million Earned from Angkor Ticket Sale

The government generated some US$35.95 million from the selling of Angkor Archaeological Park entry passes in the first quarter of 2019.

The update was shared by the state-run Angkor Enterprise that manages the ticket sale, adding that the income suggests 9.3 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.

From January to March, there were 787,900 foreign tourists visiting the Angkor Archaeological Park, home to a wide range of Cambodian ancient temples.

Last year, the park earned US$116 million a part of it was used to support the operation of Kantha Bopha children's hospitals.

Since February 2017, the Royal Government of Cambodia has deducted two U.S. dollars from each ticket sold in order to fund these most visited children's hospitals in the country.
