NEC Receives 39 Complaints Following Announcement of Senate Election’s Voters List

National Election Committee (NEC) has received 39 officially filed complaints after the announcement of voters list for the Feb. 25 election of the senate.

The update was shared recently by NEC’s member Mr. Dim Sovannarom, adding that the committee agreed with 32 of the complaints.

Among the rest 7 of the complaints, one were turned down, two were responded with official letters, and four are being heard.

For next step, the National Election Committee expected to organise a lucky draw for sequence numbers among all participating political parties in the election of the senate on Jan. 8.

There are 62 seats in the forth-term election of the senate � of them, two will be nominated by the King, another two by the National Assembly, and the rest are those who will win the voting.

Only elected commune and Sangkat councillors and eligible members of the National Assembly can vote to select members of senate.
