New 100 Traffic Lights To Be Put into Temporary Use Later This Month

Some new 100 traffic lights in Phnom Penh capital city will be temporarily put into use later this month, according to local media report.

Mr. Sam Piseth, Director of Municipal Public Works and Transport Department, said the installation of the new 100 traffic lights has been completed and the remaining work is to connect electric wire system from all traffic lights to a common light controller room at the Municipal Hall.

With this new traffic light installation, 64 old traffic lights will be reinstalled in the suburbs.

Supported by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), the launch of new traffic lights will help ensure safety and security in the capital city.
